When a power outage interrupts Alek and Victor in the middle of a kinky scene, it could mean the end of their fun for the night. But when Alek begs for more, Victor gets creative, and they discover that some games are even better in the dark.

Excerpt

There is a glorious storm raging outside, wild winds howling against the eaves and corners of the house, windowpanes rattling under the onslaught beneath night-dark clouds. Thunder shudders at unpredictable intervals, a summer storm shouting to the heavens. The sky is angry tonight.

Alek is aware of all this only in the smallest corner of his brain. The rest of his focus is taken up entirely by more immediate physical sensations. The soft ropes binding his arms behind his back. The cozy warmth of the bedroom making him feel feverish despite his nakedness. The soft blanket squashed beneath his cheek. The uncomfortable scrape of denim across the fronts of his thighs and his stomach, where he lies helpless across Victor's lap. The aching need of arousal, impossible to sate in his current position.

And more urgent than even these intimate details, the unpredictable crack of Victor's palm coming down on his bare and stinging ass.

When they began this game, Victor ordered him to keep count—and Alek tried. Truly he tried. He recited each number aloud as the strikes landed, slow and methodical at first, then faster and fiercer as Victor found his way to a more brutal rhythm. But Alek should have known he wouldn't be able to keep it up in the face of so much overwhelming sensation, with no respite to recover himself. When has he ever managed to successfully keep his head in the game, no matter how sternly his dom commands him?

Victor doesn't actually mind when Alek fails, of course. In fact, he delights in concocting delicious punishments that turn Alek on, while tormenting him to the very edge of endurance.

And Alek could certainly put a stop to this if he weren't enjoying himself. Victor will hold him down, manhandle him, push him around in all the ways they both enjoy—he will allow Alek to put up a fight, while easily preventing him from escape—but he will also respect Alek's safe word. Theirs is an understanding reached through years of experience and careful negotiation, and Alek feels safe in Victor's hands despite all the ways in which Victor is bigger and stronger than him. Yes, Victor can overpower him easily, and that is a turn-on every single time. But Victor will also never use that physical strength in ways Alek hasn't asked for, and the trust between them burns like an ember in his chest.

"Please," Alek sobs now, voice cracking as the word breaks into the panting quiet of the bedroom. He doesn't know what he is begging for. More? Harder? Or maybe relief, release, a softer touch. His hair, long and loose, keeps getting in his mouth, an annoyance so irrelevant he barely notices.

Victor's only answer is to brush Alek's hair out of his face with a gentle touch, and then use the same hand to rain down five quick blows so hard they leave him reeling.
